Our
"73 client service tips for
I.T. professionals" booklet offers practical advice and tips on
consulting skills, client relationship techniques and other helpful ideas for
the I.T. professional.
The following tip is an excerpt from the booklet.
Tip #34 (Managing your scope of work)
There are common traits among people who
are most likely to force scope change on you.
You either know the type of people or can
develop such a list.
Be extra careful when
dealing with people who remind you of them.
Here's some from my experience: part-timers
(those who have occasional involvement with
your project), parachutists (those who join the
project late) and gurus (those who need to
demonstrate their extensive knowledge to
justify their presence).

This and other tips like this are covered in our web
based Consulting Skills classes that will be conducted in November 2007.
