The Consulting Academy is run by Brazos Consulting. We specialize in improving professional services competence and profitability by enabling project teams with business savvy and client service skills. Public or on-site presentations of the Art and Science of Consulting workshop are available.

We are headquartered in Houston, the capital of southeast Texas, known for its energy industry, Compaq - now HP- computers, NASA, its two-time NBA champion Houston Rockets, the four-time WNBA champions Houston Comets and the 2003 College World Series winners, the Rice University Owls.

David Alev
Our workshops are led by David Alev. 

David has over twenty years of information technology development, sales and delivery experience, with Big 5 and global consulting organizations.

His clients include small businesses; large industrial, hi-tech, chemical and pharmaceutical companies; public utilities and local governments. He has developed and presented project implementation methodologies for a leading enterprise resource planning package.

David recruited, built, managed and coached many consulting project teams during his career with Deloitte & Touche and Cap Gemini America. As Quality Officer he conducted peer reviews on projects of over $10 million covering the business, technology and staffing dimensions.

Prior to his consulting experience David served as instructor in information sciences. He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering (Robert College) and an MS degree in Computer Science (State University of New York at Albany).

David is based in Houston, TX. 

Barry Deutsch

Barry has over twenty years in information technology development and delivery experience with Big 5 and regional consulting organizations along with significant experience working within corporations.

Barry's clients and employers have included the telecommunication, public utilities, manufacturing, oil and gas exploration, finance, healthcare, non-profit and retail industries.

Consulting roles have ranged from executive counseling, organizational change, process improvement, to application selection and implementation.  Corporate roles have ranged from starting and managing a development organization of over 180 people to product management and sales support.  Barry has recently been involved in assisting clients in developing web based applications.  Barry has worked both on domestic and international assignments.

Barry holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Computing Science from Texas A&M University.

We named our business after the Brazos River in Texas, the largest river between the Rio Grande and the Red River. It has a total length of about 840 miles from the source of its longest fork. Its source is near the Texas - New Mexico border and it flows into the Gulf of Mexico near Freeport, south of Houston.
